Preliminary Task

For my groups first preliminary task we were given a script and asked to create a story based on a few lines. We created a story of three friends who went to a party and after an argument Sonia one of the characters went to meet her boyfriend who turned out to be her teacher. On the way to meet her boyfriend Sonia was attacked and ended up in hospital. As Sonia is still a student her and her boyfriends relationship is illegal and when Sonia ends up in hospital the police and her parents must be called and the truth about their relationship must come out. 


The opening scene was a conversation between Sonia's friends Tony and Sam on the morning after the party. They are worried about the fact Sonia didn't come back after she left the party the night before, so Tony calls her. The first shot was a two shot, of both the characters, which then goes into a close up of Tony's phone dialling Sonia's number. The next shot is a match on action shot of the phone call to Sonia lying in a hospital bed, she answers the phone call and then there is a close up shot of Sonia's phone losing signal, and then a match on action shot to Tony's phone being cut off. 


The next set of shots are between Sonia and Dan the teacher in hospital having a conversation, we used shot reverse shot's to show their conversation. 


If we could improve our film we would use a tripod for scene such as the conversations because holding the camera made the scene shaky and it looked unprofessional, I also feel that the panning shot that was added in should have been deleted as it made the scene look messy.
